ANNUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

This saturday 12th will be host ot the annual Hercules club championships. At this there will be 3 events with people competing in Powerlifting, Oly Weightlifting and Bodybuilding.

Weigh in for bodybuilding 10:30 - 11:30 (lifting starts at 12:00)
Weigh in for Powerlifting 11:30 - 12:30 (lifting starts at 1:00)

Also the lord may of Dublin City paid tribute this April to the Winning Irish team of the WPF World Powerlifting Championships which took place last year in November in Vienna, Austria. Click HERE to see pictures of the event.

Following the AGM, Hercules Club have elected a long time member and olympic competitor, Tommy Hayden as their first President. The role of this person is one of a symbolic nature. Please click HERE for more details.

UPDATE - 20th/11/08

CONGRATULATIONS!! to the folllowing members of the Hercules club who all won their classes at this years WPF World Powerlifting, Bench press & Deadlift Championships 2008:

Ger Smith 75kgs junior - 645kgs (WR)
Dave Smith 100kgs M2 - 832.5kgs (WR)
Bernard Delaney 90kgs open - 840kgs
Martin Dillon 90kgs M4 - 520kgs
Billy Kidd M5 - 440kgs

This was a historic day for Irish Powerlifting as this is the first time in Irish history that Ireland have won the Team event. A special congratulations to Ruairi Mc Cann, Shane Brodie and Nerijus Cekas who also represented Ireland and aided in attaining this trophy

Many thanks to JJ Dunne, Ben & Christopher Hartigan, Patsy Conboy & Della for all their help and support over the weekend.

Hercules will host their annual Club Championships on December 13th in the club. Keep this marked in your diary, all are welcome to view this event!

UPDATE - 22/09/08
CONGRATULATIONS to 5 Hercules Club Bodybuilders who took part in the NABBA Mr.Ireland competition of 2008. As Usual the Standards were high and the Hercules team were able to rise to it and bring home Trophies. Those people were as follows:

-JJ Dunne 1st (Over 40s)
-Schwab (first times)
-Frank 3rd (first Timers)

Congratulations to Daniel Kennedy & Brent Duggan from the Hercules Club
who took part In the British Seniors Championships last weekend in Sheffeild
There was over 80 wrestlers fighting on two mats battling it out to qualify for the
European Championships next month in Finland, Both our wrestlers qualified
-Daniel was placed 3rd place ( 96kg)
-Brent Duggan 5th place (84kg

27th/Jan/08 - IDFPA National Championship Update

Congradulations to James Hanley , Patrick Halai Graham blake and Ger Smith who won each of their Divisions at the Competition in Gorey, Wexford.

-James won the 100kgs Junior/Open Division With 245kgs Squat / 180kgs Bench / 245kgs Deadlift
-Patrick won the 90kgs Open division with 240kgs Squat / 172.5kgs Bench / 250kgs Deadlift
-Graham won the 90kgs Junior Division with 210 Squat / 132.5kgs Bench / 210kgs Deadlift
- Ger smith won the 75kgs Open/Junior and the Overal Best lifter of the day. His lifts were
210kgs Squat / 135kgs Bench / 240kgs Deadlift
